The Classroom Intifada: How U.S. Universities Have Become Hotbeds of Hate

The Lie:

  • University campuses across America are safe and welcoming for everyone — including Jewish and pro-Israel students.

The Truth:

  • Under the guise of “academic freedom,” elite universities are platforming antisemitic activism, giving professors who glorify terror and deny Hamas’s crimes the prestige of Ivy League classrooms.

Background:

  • Princeton University just released its Spring 2026  Course Catalogue, featuring a course titled “Gender, Reproduction, and Genocide,” which describes Israel’s conduct in Gaza as “the ongoing genocide.”
  • The course will be taught by Dr. Nadera Shalhoub-Kevorkian—an instructor previously suspended and arrested in Israel for incitement—and comes amid a nationwide surge in campus antisemitism and growing concern that academic institutions are enabling anti-Israel hostility.

Truth Explained:

  • Princeton University hired Dr. Nadera Shalhoub-Kevorkian in October 2024 despite her record of antisemitism and anti-Israel incitement. She signed an open letter accusing Israel of “genocide,” said on Israeli TV “It’s time to abolish Zionism. It can’t continue, it’s criminal.” She dismissed reports of Hamas’s sexual violence as “lies,” and was suspended and arrested in Israel for suspected incitement. Two weeks later, she posted a Facebook tribute to PFLP leader Ghassan Kanafani, responsible for the 1972 Lod Airport massacre that killed 26 people, including 17 Americans. Jewish Onliner, Nov 4
  • At Columbia University, Professor Mahmood Mamdani, father of New York Mayor Elect Zohran Mamdani, sits on the Gaza Tribunal’s advisory council alongside Ramy Abdu, an Israel-designated Hamas operative. Mamdani’s participation reflects how extremist, CAIR-aligned ideology has infiltrated the Ivy League classrooms. Jewish Onliner, Oct 28 2025.
  • A federal class-action lawsuit filed by Jewish students against Chapman University documented “a pattern of ethnic and racial intimidation,” including death threats, vandalized Israeli memorials, and chants of “Death to Jews,” with no disciplinary action taken by administrators. Times of Israel, Nov 5 2025
  • Antisemitism on campus is widespread: 73% of Jewish college students in the U.S. have experienced or witnessed antisemitism. Globally, 78% of Jewish students hide their identity, and 81% conceal Zionist beliefs for fear of attack. Axios, Nov 29 2023; Times of Israel, Sept 16 2025
  • A 2025 Sutherland Institute study found that “very liberal” Jewish undergraduates are nine times more likely to side with Palestinians than conservatives, showing that ideological indoctrination, not education, is reshaping Jewish identity on campus. Sutherland Institute / AEI, June 4 2025

Quotes:

  • “When over three-quarters of Jewish students feel they must conceal their identity, the situation is nothing short of dire.” — Marina Rosenberg, ADL (Times of Israel, Sept 16 2025)
  • “Universities were meant to teach moral courage. Instead, they are normalizing moral collapse.” — Matthew Mainen, National Jewish Advocacy Center (Times of Israel, Nov 5 2025)

Takeaway:

From Princeton to Chapman, antisemitism is no longer fringe: it’s being taught. Academic freedom cannot excuse the mainstreaming of hate against Jews.
