UNRWA is a humanitarian agency supporting Palestinian refugees.

The Truth:

UNRWA isn’t a relief agency — it’s a Hamas front group that radicalizes Gazans, glorifies terror in its classrooms, and bankrolls the terrorism.

Background:

Created in 1949 to aid roughly 700,000 Arab refugees — a war launched by five Arab armies seeking to destroy the newly declared State of Israel — UNRWA was meant to be temporary.

The agency began operations in 1950 and was initially focused on direct relief and employment projects to prevent starvation and distress among refugees. UNRWA’s mandate was understood to be temporary, contingent on political resolutions to the refugee problem. However, this temporary situation evolved into a long-standing mandate, as the agency expanded its services to include education, health, social services, and microfinance for millions of Palestinian refugees and their descendants.
As of 2024, UNRWA is the only UN agency that makes refugee status hereditary — inflating its registry from 700,000 in 1949 to 5.9 million, many of whom are citizens elsewhere. The agency is now deeply infiltrated by Hamas and weaponizes aid against Israel.
