Fact Sheet

Hamas Not So Secretly Embeds Itself in Gaza’s “Post-War” Government

The Lie:

  • Hamas will have no involvement in Gaza’s governance after the war — a neutral, technocratic government will take over.

The Truth:

  • Hamas has already inserted itself into Gaza’s future government, hand-selecting half its members with the full knowledge of Arab mediators and the Palestinian Authority.

Background:

  • The Trump-brokered ceasefire required Hamas to disarm, release all hostages (living and deceased), and relinquish power in Gaza.

The Truth Explained:

  • KAN News confirmed on October 21, 2025, that Hamas personally selected half of the so-called “technocratic” cabinet meant to govern Gaza after the war, filling it with Hamas loyalists under the guise of “independent” figures. (KAN, Oct. 21, 2025)
  • The PA appointed the other half but quietly accepted Hamas’s nominees to avoid internal conflict. (Jerusalem Post, Oct. 21, 2025)
  • Despite the ongoing ceasefire, Hamas retains weapons, tunnels, and veto power over Gaza’s reconstruction. Jewish Breaking News
  • Egypt and Qatar submitted the final list to Hamas for approval before moving forward — effectively giving the terror group veto power over Gaza’s future. (Ynet, Oct. 21, 2025)
  • Hamas itself admitted proposing 40 “independent figures” to run Gaza’s post-war administration. (ABNA, Oct. 19, 2025)
  • Egypt later confirmed 15 technocrats were approved to manage Gaza alongside Israel — but Hamas remains armed and entrenched. (FDD, Oct. 14, 2025)
  • Meanwhile, Hamas’s UN front — UNRWA — is being rebranded for a comeback. According to regional analysts, UNRWA functioned as Hamas’s civilian arm for decades, employing thousands of operatives, storing weapons in its schools, and radicalizing Gazan children to glorify “resistance.” Efforts are now underway by UN officials and sympathetic governments to restore UNRWA’s role in “New Gaza,” a move Israeli and U.S. experts warn would put Hamas right back in charge. (Richard Goldberg Twitter, Oct. 21, 2025)
  • Israel warned Washington not to fund with reconstruction until Hamas complies with complete disarmament. (Jerusalem Post, Oct. 21, 2025)

Quotes:

  • “Hamas inserted about half of the technocratic government’s composition, choosing individuals who support Hamas and its principles.” — KAN News (Elior Levy)
  • “Unless Hamas is disarmed, the balance of power in Gaza will not change.” — Joe Truzman, FDD

Takeaway:

  • The “technocratic” government is a façade:  Hamas keeps its hands on Gaza’s future, its tunnels, and its terror network, with Arab mediators and the PA looking the other way.
